Hola! We are typing to you from Piro Station on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. It has been a long two days, but we are having a blast! Today we started with a pick-up truck ride from Corcovado to Piro Station. We then started off on our took a two mile hike where we learned about reforestation and saw a bat, humming bird, poisonous frog, and the rest of the biodiversity this area has to offer. After our hike, we had a delicious lunch and were then assigned to our rooms. Later, we regrouped and set off on a sunset hike to the beach. Along our hike we saw wild horses of all different colors, enhancing our knowledge of the biodiversity of Costa Rica. At the beach, we swam in a river, with very fresh water, and found hermit crabs in the sand. We ventured out onto the rocks and later took advantage of our resources and played baseball with driftwood and a coconut! Throughout the day, Chef Marlon cooked authentic Costa Rican meals, consisting of rice and beans, salads, and different kinds of meats. One surprising thing that we learned was that Costa Rica has taken immense strides to rebuild their forests and protect their wildlife. We are so happy to be here and are looking forward to what is to come.

P.S. Hi moms and dads... This is Jacqueline, Emily, and Sophia here... We volunteered to be the leaders of the day! We are having an AMAZING time and we are so thankful that you sent us on this trip.. We miss and love you and can't wait to tell you about the rest of our journey!! See you soon! Pura Vida!!!
